How to Choose the Right Location for Your Company Picnic

Planning your company’s corporate picnic can be a big job. There are a lot of details to think about, including: the venue, food, games, activities, rentals, and prizes. A company picnic is a lot of fun for the attendees but is a lot of work for the event organizer.

The first thing to think about is the venue. You want to scout locations that are close enough to be easily accessible to all or most of the company’s employees. Make sure there is enough parking and look to see what kind of activities are available for employees and their families. Amenities like playgrounds, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, pools and hiking trails can all add to the enjoyment of everyone who attends.

Next up is food, rentals (tables, tableware, tents), and any entertainment. Can a tent be set up at your venue? Can tables and tableware be easily carried to the specified area? If the event will be catered then catering may need certain things like electricity, running water, and an area to plate and stage food. The entertainment that is chosen may have these requirements as well.
